Ultralight Camping Hammocks: Materials, Sizes, Weight
We design hammocks for ultralight travel, where every gram and every centimetre in your pack matters. That is why our line has two models with different approaches to fabric.
Elfy: Monolite Mesh fabric
Elfy is made of 20D Monolite Mesh nylon — a monofilament yarn in a mesh weave. This fabric is lighter than classic nylon and at the same time stronger. Weight without straps — 135 g in size M and 170 g in XL; recommended load — up to 155 kg. Finish — C6 DWR.
Pixy: 20D ripstop nylon
Pixy is a hammock made of lightweight 20D nylon. It is slightly heavier than Elfy (weight without straps — 147 g in M, 195 g in XL), but this fabric compresses better. Recommended load — up to 135 kg. A sensible choice for your first ultralight hammock.
How to choose a size
The length of a hammock determines how flat you can lie on the diagonal. M (2.7 × 1.2 m) offers minimum weight and pack size; it is more of a choice for a short rest than for a full night's sleep. XL (3 × 1.45 m) gives a flatter diagonal: less pressure on shoulders and knees and a straighter back, so it is the better choice for overnight use, especially for tall people.
Suspension included
Both models come with G-straps and UHMW PE cord (similar to Dyneema), 3.5 mm. The height and sag of the hammock are easy to adjust with the G-straps.
The hammock is the core of a hammock sleep system: together with a tarp, a bug net and the Moon underquilt, it replaces a tent. LELEKA hammocks come with a 1-year warranty
